Hoss and Lightning

Gift art for of his new fursona, just because x) (and also because he's the nicest person I've met on the net. Vaguely inside joke.) Took some liberties with the design, hope you don't mind.

Stuck to general cel-shading sort because I can't exactly spare the time already, and there's no background because if I put one in I'd mess it up more* so I dropped in a shadow and that was that. Must say that I liked the sketch lots, though, because they both came out just right, until I realised the Hoss-canid was no longer an arctic fox and had a tuft-thing! This lead to some editing. The hair was the hardest to get in without taking away the general feel of the character, so I cut some off. Heh. Photoshop also gave me a scare when I was almost done by hanging randomly, good thing the save didn't corrupt like last time.

Pencil sketch + photoshop, greater part of six hours (mostly because I was talking to abovely mentioned person), one of the few pics that needed no contrasting. Yay.


*many errors, ick. Also, please imagine that there is an anatomically correct way to get all the invisible legs behind them. And don't ask why Lightning's jumping so high, or why her shadows are tinted red and Hoss' are tinted blue.
